From PRC to Phnom Pemh, Cambodia
December 11-16, 2014

Under my current China "Q1" visa I may leave China as often as I want until June 15, 2017 and return without additional paperwork. This trip was to be my "test case" to see if it was really as advertised. Fortunately, I was able to leave on December 11, 2014 and return on December 16, 2016. I am certain to do more traveling around S.E. Asia during 2015!

This first trip under my new visa I thought about going to Cambodia for three or four days and right back to China. I hate to travel alone but I had made careful contact with Dara Kim, a Cambodian I had met and worked with at Michigan State University. Also I was in contact with one of my students from the English Department of Shandong Sports University that was now working in Phenom Penh

I got to Phenom Penh on Thursday night December 11, 2014. I had ordered my Cambodian visa online through a tour operator. The cost of the service was $45.00 USD. When I arrived at the terminal, I went directly to the custom agent with my printed e-visa. My passport was immediately stamped - so easy.
